Dudley Station (first) opens.
June 10, 1901
Architect: Alexander Longfellow. Designed in the Beaux Arts/French Renaissance Revival style, it is located at 2345 Washington Street. In addition to making the area a commercial center, the expansion of the station in 1909 and 1948 makes it a transportation center for trolley and bus lines as well. The station closes when the elevated is replaced by the New Orange Line in 1987. The copper canopy is subsequently reused as part of a new bus station on the site by architects Domenech Gicks & Krochmalnic in 2002.* It is renamed Nubian Station in 2020.
